Ms. Key obtained a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Emory University in
1989 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from
South Texas College of Law in 1994. Between
her undergraduate studies and law school,
Ms. Key did graduate work in piano performance
at the University of Michigan and the
University of Houston. While in law school,
Ms. Key was a finalist in the Fisher,
Gallagher & Lewis Mock Trial Competition.
She was also a semi-finalist in the Spurgeon
Bell Moot Court Competition and the Client
Counseling Competition. She was a member
of the Garland Walker American Inns of
Court and studied comparative law in the
Greek Isles with Tulane University School
of Law.
Ms. Key has been a member
of the Texas State Bar since November
1994. She is licensed by the Texas Supreme
Court, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals,
Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts
Southern District of Texas.
Ms. Key practices general
civil litigation primarily in the area
of asbestos
defense, including product and premises
liability. Her professional experience
includes first chair responsibility for
state and federal court litigation in
the areas of toxic torts, products liability,
personal injury, property damage, wrongful
death, contribution and indemnity, premises
liability, automobile liability, governmental
liability, and constitutional and civil
rights actions. She has successfully tried
cases to final verdict and has successfully
argued before the 9th Court of Appeals
of Texas.
Ms. Key is a member of
the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar
Association and the Defense Research Institute.
