Ms. Rigby is a native Houstonian. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 1987. Ms. Rigby is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court.
Initially, Ms. Rigby practiced in the area of criminal defense. In this capacity, she
tried many cases to verdict, in a first chair capacity. Ms. Rigby then worked for
approximately 5 years, at Munisteri & Associates and Munisteri, Sprott, LeFevre &
Rigby, predecessors of the current firm. Ms. Rigby returned to criminal law,
working for State Counsel for Offenders, under the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice – Institutional Division. She has now returned to this firm to work with Mr.
Rigby on his insurance defense docket.
Throughout her career, Ms. Rigby has gained extensive experience in trial, first
chair and second chair, attending and taking depositions, and appearing at
hearings. Her experience also includes the preparation and arguing of appellate
briefs before the Texas Courts of Appeals. Ms. Rigby’s areas of expertise in civil
law include, but are not limited to, medical malpractice, construction defect,
premises liability, automobile liability, and general liability.
