BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Rigby was raised in Houston. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from
the University of Texas at Austin in 1982. He received his Doctor of
Jurisprudence from the University of Houston in 1986. While in law school, Mr. Rigby served as associate editor for the Houston Journal of International Law, and as President of Phi Alpha Delta. He also successfully participated in moot court competitions. Mr. Rigby is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court and the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas. Mr. Rigby started his legal career with the insurance defense law firm of Ryan & Marshall.

The focus of Mr. Rigby's legal career has been the defense of personal injury
claims, primarily in the areas of medical and dental malpractice, products liability, and automobile liability. He has successfully tried many such cases to final verdict and successfully defended hundreds of others. He has represented defendants in numerous cases involving significant injuries, such as brain damage, quadriplegia and death. Mr. Rigby also has litigation experience in the areas of premises liability, construction liability, defamation, deceptive trade practices, and legal malpractice. Mr. Rigby also has vast experience in legal research and legal writing.

Mr. Rigby has spoken before risk-management groups, and has volunteered as a judge in the University of Houston Trial Advocacy program. He is an active
member of Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church.
